Privacy policy

Prime Salary arranges novated leases for employees in Australia. This policy explains what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is written to the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect, and when
When you ask for a quote, we collect your first and last name, your email address, your mobile number if you give one, the employer you select, your annual salary before tax, and the car, lease term and yearly distance you choose. Your salary is needed because the whole benefit is a tax calculation — without it there is no quote to give.
When you tell us about an employer we do not have an arrangement with, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the employer's name, and the car you were looking at, so we can approach them and come back to you.
When you sign in to see your quotes, we collect the email address you enter so we can send you a link. We do not ask for a password and we do not set one up for you.
When you browse, Google Analytics records which pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you used. We have configured it not to send us the address of the specific quote you were looking at — every quote reference in a page address is replaced before it leaves your browser.
We do not collect your date of birth, your address, your bank details or any government identifier through this website.
Why we collect it
To work out what a novated lease would cost you, to send you that quote, to let you find it again, and to talk to you about it if you want us to. Your employer selection matters because a novated lease runs through their payroll, and the running costs are priced per employer.
Who else sees it
- Microsoft Azure, which hosts this site, stores its data and delivers our email. Everything is held in Azure's Australia East region. - Google Analytics, which receives the page addresses described above. - Your employer, but only if you go ahead — a novated lease cannot exist without a deduction on their payroll, and they have to agree to it. - A financier and an insurer, but only if you go ahead and only with what they need to write the lease. We will tell you who they are before anything is signed.
We do not sell your information, and we do not give it to anyone for their own marketing.
Cookies
This site sets a small number of cookies:
- One that remembers you are signed in to your quotes, for eight hours. It cannot be read by scripts running in the page. - One that lets you download the quote you have just asked for, for thirty minutes. - One for staff signing in to the part of the site where its content is edited. - Google Analytics cookies, which measure how the site is used.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. The first three are needed for the site to work; blocking them will stop you signing in or downloading a quote.
How long we keep it
A quote holds for six months, and we keep it and the details behind it for that period so you can come back to it. After that we keep a record of the enquiry for as long as we need it for our own business and tax obligations, and no longer than the law allows.
Where it is stored
In Australia. This site, its files and its database are hosted in Microsoft Azure's Australia East region. Some of our suppliers — Google Analytics in particular — process information overseas, and by using this site you consent to that.
Seeing and correcting what we hold
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, by emailing contact@primesalary.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time and we will not charge you for asking. If a quote has the wrong salary or the wrong employer on it, tell us and we will correct it — the figures depend on both.
You can also ask us to delete what we hold, and we will unless we are required to keep it.
If you are not happy
Email contact@primesalary.com.au and tell us what went wrong. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes
We will update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top says when somebody last reviewed it.
